Ingredients
1/2 pound fresh asparagus spears
3 cloves minced garlic
2–3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Olive oil spray (or 1–2 tablespoons olive oil)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut asparagus spears to uniform length, reserving woody ends if using.
Toss trimmed asparagus with olive oil spray or oil to coat evenly.
Arrange on a baking sheet and season with salt and pepper.
Roast for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle garlic and parmesan cheese over asparagus. Roast 5–7 more minutes until tender and lightly browned.
Notes
Use firmly packed asparagus for best results.
For dairy-free: substitute nutritional yeast or vegan parmesan.
Reserve woody asparagus ends to roast as a meaty base, then discard before serving.
